Adam KerpelmanFounder - Producer - DirectorAdam Kerpelman is a writer, director, and producer with short film, music video, and television work to his credit. He first picked up a camera when he was 15, learning his way around a darkroom and starting ultimately starting a photography business. Adam turned his attention to the moving image while attending the University of Virginia, immersing himself in filmmaking, writing, and acting, all while maintaining a 40 hour a week competitive swimming schedule. He went on to be an 18 time All-American and winner of the team's Hardest Worker and Coaches awards. After completing a B.A. in Philosophy Adam remained at the university to study with acclaimed independent filmmaker Kevin Everson, eventually lensing portions of his Sundance hit feature "Cinnamon", and moving to LA after being accepted into the California Institute of the Arts. Adam's influences are eclectic, having grown up playing "Dungeons and Dragons" and collecting comic books with one group of friends, and talking sex, drugs and rock & roll with the other. He has written and directed dozens of short films and music videos, stopping along the way to help One Step team members in other capacities, including working as a producer, an editor, an animator, an actor and, as a production assistant. |

Rom AlejandroProducer - DirectorRomulo Alejandro first gained exposure with his sci-fi film, Roskosmos, about an ill-fated Russian space flight in the 1960's. It won both the Grand Jury Prize for Best Film and the Best Undergraduate Drama at the 2007 Ivy Film Festival. After graduating from the University of Virginia ('07), Rom moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as an Assistant Editor for the feature-length documentary No Impact Man. He edited Akosua Adoma Owusu's Me Broni Ba, which premiered at MoMA in 2009. A fellow for Film Independent's Project:Involve, Rom recently wrote and directed a short film for Banana Republic's Fall Campaign: City Stories. He currently works as an assistant to Jason Bushman and Charles Herman-Wurmfeld on Hollywood, je t'aime. |

Jesse Barrett-MillsProducer - DirectorJesse Barrett-Mills is an award-winning Director, Writer, and Cinematographer. His work has been featured at film festivals and screenings around the world, from Cannes to New York. Nine of his films are currently in distribution, and he is in production of three others, all of which will be released this coming year. Jesse graduated Dean's honors with a BA from Case Western Reserve University and from the California Institute of the Arts with an MFA in Film Directing. |

Konstantin BrazhnikProducer - DirectorWith a background in Physics and Studio Arts, Konstantin Brazhnik's interests lie in the realm of discovery and finding ways to do things differently and uniquely. He has worked in the capacity of producer, director, director of photography, motion and still graphics designer, and editor. His work has been recognized at film festivals across the country, including the Virginia Film Festival and CineVegas. Konstantin is a graduate of the University of Virginia, and is currently enrolled in the University of Southern California MFA Cinema Production Program. |

Lin QiuProducer - DirectorLin Qiu was born in Wenzhou, China and moved with his family to the States at the age of 9. He has an MFA from California Institute of Arts in Film/Video and a BA in Art History from the University of Virginia. His films have shown in domestic and international film festivals including Viennale, Sundance, NY Underground, and CineVegas. Lin is currently developing several projects, including a western feature, an LA-based web series, and a portrait of his mother. |

Dustin ThompsonProducer - DirectorDustin Thompson is an independent and experimental filmmaker, whose work has played at festivals worldwide including the Virginia Film Festival, Athens Film & Video Festival, Chicago Underground Film Festival, and Tiburon Film Festival. As a writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and sound designer, Dustin's personal work cross-pollinates photographic and time-based digital and analog media with atmospheric sound design. Dustin's skate-video [SHOT_FROM_DARK] is currently distributed worldwide. He graduated from the University of Virginia's undergraduate Echols Interdisciplinary Program ('06) and holds a California Institute of the Arts MFA ('09) from the Film & Video and Integrated Media programs.
